Handy for sites or other communication that demands an email, but that you don't trust with an important one. Basically anything you'd use a throwaway for, but a little more permanent.
Used it to sign up to deezer back when it was easy to rip flac files from them. Turned out to be a good call because the site was later hacked, and the email got a lot of spam after.
