>>105701840 Starlink, unironically. I hate muskrat too, but if you have no other option starlink provides 15-50ms ping which isn't ideal, but useable. And 100-400mbps, and up to 1gbps supposedly in the next 6-12 months with the high performance plan and equipment.
>>105701848 I just feel somewhat spiritually opposed to paying the 120/mo demand pricing I suppose this is my only option if I have to live in this shithole. Is their 50/mo roaming plan any good?
>>105701870 Sorry, not sure about the plan pricing/performance, I'm only speaking from 2nd hand knowledge gained from the few anons on /g/ that have starlink, if this thread stays up long enough one of them should be around in a bit to give more details.
>>105701887 Thanks for the second opinion anyhow, anon. I appreciate it. I just hope the view of the sky is sufficient, because I live somewhere with lots of tall buildings and trees.
>>105701918 Starlink is pretty good with that from what I understand due to the position of the satellites being so low and with how many there are up there, so you don't need a huge clear view of the sky (though it still helps).

Why are ISPs in general so shitty/retarded?
I recently upgraded to 2gig internet and they sent out their "free" router for me to use (I already own a much better router I'll be using instead), and they sent a router that's only capable of 1gbps, not 2gbps. And when I placed the order I specifically ordered the service as "Bring your own router" but of course they ignored that and sent one anyway.

>>105701658 (OP) fast.com isn't "fake" it's justing netflix CDNs which are generally hosted within your ISPs network, or very near their network allowing for high throughput even if their ISP normally isn't that fast for things like game downloads since they use a CDN further away.
