What's up /g/. First time ever browsing or posting here.

Redpill me on picrel. This is at BestBuy for $2299:
>ASUS - ProArt P16 16" 4K OLED Touch Screen Laptop - Copilot+ PC - AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 - 32GB Memory - RTX 4070 - 2TB SSD - Nano Black

Or for a couple hundred more I can have it come with the RTX 5070 instead. Is this worth it? Mostly just going to be using it for Ableton Live, maybe some video editing too. Also, what's up with Copilot+? Is this is a gay AI marketing gimmick? I wish it didn't come with that shit. I hope it's easy to disregard when using the laptop.

I don't like macs. I would like a windows. Plus I just looked since you suggested it and they don't have as much memory or hard drive space that I would want.

It's fine just overpriced IMO, you can get a 4070/5070 laptop for cheaper.

>Is this is a gay AI marketing gimmick?
It's useful and not, 2TB isn't going to do a lot for LLM stuff you'll need to add in an extra drive for useful shit. It's fine the CPU is decent and good for future OS upgrades with windows. Personally, I'd opt for something with 64GB ram and a 4080/5070

Insanely overpriced. Don't need AI shit. Don't need touch screen laptop. This is the problem with laptops. They put all these useless features and then double the price because of it.

You don't know shit.

Getting a stupid overpriced ASUS laptop (with a touchscreen...) for $2300.

Instead, a 13" or 15" macbook air will perform better and longer than that stupid ass piece of shit. And it'll be cheaper.

Can you suggest something in particular? I've done a lot of searching around and it seems like stuff either falls into rinky dink notebook category or some expensive bs like what I posted that actually performs well but is overpriced and loaded with unnecessary frills.

Okay, fair point, it's expensive. But maybe you can shut your faggot ass up with your whining and actually suggest something instead of your dumbass macbook products? You don't think I've already considered that? Thanks for your profound help. Go fuck your mother, loser

I did recommend something. The best laptop you can currently get. It's an M4 macbook air you sperg.

If you don't agree with that or can't do your own research to identify value, then go give Best Buy $2300 and enjoy your piece of shit, overheating dumpster fire. Enjoy watching the battery die after two hours of run time.

If you had reading comprehension you would say that I've stated
>instead of your dumbass macbook products
No, I'm not interested in a M4 macbook air
>also overpriced for the performance
>shitty port selection and you have to buy dongles like a shmuck
>barely any hard drive space

Enjoy your scam, see you in line at the next gen of dongle releases, cattle

If I were getting a windows based laptop I’d get a Dynabook. It’s never talked about here because the aspergers around graphics cards, specifications, Thinkpads and furries are too strong. But it’s formerly Toshiba and the hardware is rock solid. I drove a 2018 Tecra X40-E recently and loved it

This whole thread is autistic. He doesn’t understand that Apple products are targeted at A/V enthusiasts and OP is the type of guy who wishes he could use a square steering wheel to drive his car. He’s hopeless, like a lot of people here.

Absolutely unnecessary and a waste of money.

Moore's law died a largely-unnoticed and expected death sometime around 2005, so new computers are no longer many times more powerful than used ones. So, why on Earth would the average person who only wants to watch movies, visit Facebook, surf the Internet, and shop online want to buy a new computer when a used one can easily do all of that? The cooling loop systems are largely unnecessary, because computing, today, isn't that demanding where you need lots of power that'll produce heat enough to act as a small space heater, unless, you're gaming and AI-slopping 24/7, nonstop.

One enormous advantage used computer buyers have is that they have years to watch complaints roll in from unsatisfied customers. After ten years, which computers have design flaws like buggy touch pads, weak hinges, inadequately cooled CPU's, and other less common problems will be well known. Those that have died from these flaws will no longer even be in circulation in the used computer market. Just the facts, man.

You are only enriching Microsoft and the computer manufacturers by purchasing that overpriced junk. Knowledgeable computer owners understand that buying a used computer every 4 years for $100 is far less expensive and less risky than buying a new computer every ten years for $1200+. As a matter of fact, these laptops, alone, with complete specs cost close to $4000.
>>105702292 (OP)
I understand that many people think they are planning for the future when they buy a new computer that is far more powerful than they actually need, but, this isn't the case. They're just squandering money and enriching the corporations.

RULES FOR GETTING GOOD DEALS ON USED COMPUTERS ON EBAY
>Don't waste your valuable time on EBay auctions.
>Know your computer needs before you visit EBay.
>Know how to recognize a quality computer when you see one.
>Understand how computers work and how to perform basic maintenance and repairs.
>Make a written list of everything that should come with the computer you want to buy.
>Read EBay advertisements very carefully.
>Understand exactly what you are buying.
>Learn to recognize a good price.
>Don't buy a "bare bones" computer without a CPU or RAM unless you only want it for parts.
>Understand what you have a right to expect from the seller.

I used FUTO Voice to post all this.

Please stop buying shit fucking laptops like this. This laptop will have shit battery, sound like a jet engine and get hot as fuck. If you need gaming, heavy video editing, big cad files etc you buy a desktop. For everything else you just buy a macbook and never look back. Laptops like this have no place in modern society and are just chinese shovel wear shit to feed to midwit gamers.
