It's kinda like games that rely on DLSS to increase the framerate without putting much effort into other optimizations.

It's all being done by design so people start relying on AI until the final tech with The Mark Of The Beast to be connected to the spirit of AI God Antichrist.

AI will be worse. They will start offering "free tiers" that are tuned for advertisers. Then they will slowly start to put ads in the paid tiers. Just like streaming video.

server costs for search engines are stupid expensive, the only way they can afford it is through advertising. advertisers pay search engines to promote and derank certain results.

I understand this but I feel like some shit is just completely omitted now
I've always been good at using google search operations to find what I'm looking for but it's not what it used to be

Anyone using searXNG? I switched to it today and have been enjoying it

I have been using other smaller search engines lately. They are not bad. I have two or three that I rotate around. Mojeek, Qwant, Brave, Bing, Kagi, then sometimes I will go to Google, but its been a few months. There was this German one I was using but it costs money per search and was too expensive. SearX is fun too, and there is also marginalia.something.

I just want a search engine that lets you actually search the web (sort of like wiby, except that's mostly user-contributed). All of them pretty much show you the most popular sites/social media and nothing else. There's no way to discovery what lies beneath except by autistically typing random URLs. The algorithms favor SEO above anything else. Luke's Myth talked about this in a recent video. People just gather into their small gated communities as a result.
