>Want to open up laptop
>Screws hidden under glued rubber feet
>Doesn't matter how or the care you put into it, the rubber feet will be unusable after
>Can't buy replacements from the manufacturer
Why is this allowed?

Plenty of reasons, like now them telling you you voided your warranty, but the main one is they are allowed to do it and so therefore they will do it.

if you design shit like this you should be fucking shot. it doesn't have to be that way, you chose to do it that way.
so, the product designers, the monkeys in cad, the managers, all of them. all of them should be lined up and shot.

The shitty anus gaming laptop I own has like 12 screws at the bottom and they aren't beneath rubber feet.
Stop buying the shitiest laptop

They must do this to fuck with people. It's not to make the laptop look nicer as all the other screws are visible, so two more screws being visible wouldn't make it uglier.

I don't get why they even do it.
It's even worse when some screws are directly accessible. You're not even hiding the screws for looks then.

Someone on eBay probably has replacements for sale. Which is likely an off the shelf item they bought in bulk and marked up 10000%

Yeah this sucks but I'm sure you can get glue that works for these.
I replaced some feet on my old laptop with 3d printed ones and I just stuck them on there with super glue after cleaning both surfaces with alcohol
Anonymous No.105708194 [Report]
Glue. It sticks things together.

they are rubber feet to stop the laptop moving about and to help with vibration.

are you "special"?

>want to open modern electronic device
>have to pry open fragile plastic clasps that will last, at best, 10 openings
I hate this shit so much.
Anonymous No.105709072 [Report]
hot glue is what you use here, its not too strong so you can remove the feet again , unlike superglue

do goysoomers really throw a melty when they see an exposed screw?
gotta be just that repairability and upgradability isn't profitable, nothing else

Upgrading ram and ssds on laptops is easy and prolong the laptop's life significantly.
I always make sure to buy laptops I can upgrade, I can't stand soldered ram and eMMC stuff.
Like I bought a lenovo ideapad 3 with an i3, 8 gb ram, and 128 gb ssd for like $200, upgraded it to 20 gb ram (4 gb soldered + 16 gb ddr4) and 1 tb nvme ssd, and it's a completely different beast. It'll probably last for years.
It's not hard opening laptops when you get used to it. It just sucks that sometimes the screws are really, really tight.
In OPs care I'd just buy some cheap double sided tape.
