I placed some files in some folder once I dont even remember it was so easy and now I plug in disc and it plays in VLC fine, menus and all, idk what to tell you.

You need to keep both. More often than not, severe kernel bug can only be solved with downgrading or upgrading. It's easier to have technically 2 different version of the kernel that don't share the same bug. Hopefully. I just pirate everything. If I'm using a streaming service I am trying to download from it not stream from it. I have had no issues downloading at 1080p or 4k using widevine/playready scripts.
