took my X21 thinkpad out of storage today. the paint has become sticky so I think I'll try removing it soon and seeing if I can repaint it.

The hard drive was dead, so I plan to replace it with an mSATA SSD using an IDE adapter. I'm not sure how I'll install the OS, I may have to copy setup files to the drive before installing the drive in the laptop.

The plan is to use Windows 98SE. I'm going to see if I can test it tomorrow and hopefully nothing besides the hard drive is broken

Every part in a laptop is replaceable.
Like is it really so hard for you to do a palmrest swap? Ffs, /g/ is filled with people who can't think and can't do.
Also, imagine being such a fat fuck that you eat/drink near the keyboard.

Just saw this. I am >>105736862 so mark a non-usable WWAN slot as a con. Other for my variant are that my RAM is soldered on. Many people think the keyboard is a step down, but I like it.

That said, I really, really, really, really like my T14 Gen 3 AMD. Got it for a fair price and it does everything I need it to.

From USA, I paid $435 for:

>Ryzen 7 6850u
>680m GPU
>16gb RAM
>512g SSD (swapped to a 1TB)
>New battery
>FHD touch screen
>Great condition

I really am satisfied with this thing so far. It's running Mint and some testing VMs like a champ.

Hi! i have a Thinkpad T14 and was trying to play some games that ran great on windows, emulating on cemu for example, and not great on kubuntu or mint. It seems its an issue with the current driver i915 which is defaulted on any distro instead of the newer Xe, how do i change between them? How do i tell the OS that i want to use Xe instead of i915? Thanks in advance

T480s keyboard and overall build quality are great but the iGPU really shows its age. Might be better served with a T495 or T14G1 AMD which have the same keyboard but sadly a worse chassis.

Got myself a T570, and found out it can do USB-C charging. So, I took my 65w charger I use my other devices and the cable to it, but absolutely nothing happens? Is there any specific cable sauce I need to look for or what's the issue here?

I have a feeling the cable might be causing the issues, but it's supposedly rated for 100w so that shouldn't be a problem
