i asked my doctor about this and he said its snakeoil. what they use instead is a cool electric pen that burn the inside of your nose while you're asleep.

This. They'll target the pleasure centers of your brain and make you coom to robots.
First to toasters, then ovens, then dishwashers, up the evolutionary ladder of progressively more complex machines until you're cooming your brains out for the Superintelligence.

As it stands, you can just get balloon sinuplasty, turbinate reduction, clearing of polyps and edema, etc. done - all done at once - to resolve this for the most part. Regular antihistamine use and/or saline nasal rinses also help. Never become the guinea pig for the newest treatment just because le peer reviewed, totally not pharma-funded paper came out yesterday saying it's good (I didn't read the article because I don't need to)

Probably referring to cauterization done during some procedures listed above, in which case you have local anaesthetic at minimum

what other anon said, they put you under anesthesia. it only lasts for like a hour or so. the worst that can happen is you get a nosebleed afterwards from flexing your nose too much.
