The soul has left programming in name of convenience and market
Before you could personalize even your profile html in some sites, now be grateful if you have a profile cover
The internet was full of customization, people would make the most deranged and fun windows themes, with weird effects, cursors and icons, and now this culture is almost gone
Who even changes their phone ringtone these days? Everything became sterile

I'm the one who made a maid-themed cryptography library

The maid posters mostly left or stopped posting because the janitors ban them on sight. You can post 500 low-quality soijak or frog threads and janitors will take no action, but even high quality maid threads are usually targeted by janitors for deletion and unappealable bans.

I told them it would eventually happen if they didn't make anything concrete and just kept talking about abstract concepts while posting maids. That's why while not hostile to them, I tried to present myself as a different type of maid
If you wanna improve the board, do it by making new things and saying relevant stuff instead of changing one shitpost to the other

The difference between the maid threads and the soijak/frog threads is that some of the maid threads were high effort and high quality, whereas none of the soijak/frog threads are. Even if you believe it was largely a lateral shift it was still a net positive and I would rather see a polite maid thread about abstract concepts than a soijak/frog thread whining about transwomen/indians/jews/etc. At least maid threads aren't just thinly veiled /pol/ spam.

In my opinion the problem of maid threads were that they would devolve into so much abstraction it would often become schizophrenic and devoid of tech talk, usually Eli talking about something random while people around would just be posting maids
They would also be hostile against stuff they dislike and try to silence other low-quality threads by spamming maids, and also constantly try to go against the moderation for no reason

It's the same as dealing with the government, laws are often incredibly retarded, so you just work around them without provoking politicians into persecuting you
Soijak/frog threads are terrible, but they are organic low-quality, they are the norm of the board pretty much, a forced lateral shift could be a downwards slope afterwards
Imagine if polite maid threads kept devolving into abstract math talk with anime posting without any tech at all? The board could reached a new low, specially if combined with AI schizo talk
