How or why is everyone almost instantly adding this unity/godot style UI to their game engines? I recall 10 years ago people were making engines but nobody was copying unity and thus nobody had this same UI layout in their engines. Now it's like all the fucking engines are the same. Are they copying the design from some known engine and calling it their own or what the fuck is happening?

That looks a lot more like Unreal Engine 5's UI than Unity's.

Haven't you noticed the sudden surge of these game engines? Each one has this almost identical UI layout. I suspect they copy the code for the UI from some engine, or maybe ChatGPT helps them and this is the result.

Because UI is supposed to be functional and productive, retard. It's not supposed to be unique and quirky, in fact the more standardized it is the better.

No, but there is a sudden surge in identical game engine UI's. It was never like this before, it's like every other faggot makes a game engine with this exact layout.

Game Maker before yoyogames was peak. I recall loading some shady OpenGL/DirectX DLL to do 3D with it, even though back then it was 100% a 2D engine.

>no one is interested in Game Engine UI design
Really? I doubt that. The design of the UI is related to the internal workings of the engine, it reflects what's inside, to some degree. The fact that all these UI's have the same patterns reflect that all the engines are internally similar, which is boring. What's the point, other than learning? Why market such an engine as something new and revolutionary, with its own website and everything, if it's nothing but the same old?

Just like calculators and hundreds of others electronic devices
>What's the point, other than learning?
Making money using said tool and living life
>Why market
Because people need money
>such an engine as something new and revolutionary
They want money
>if it's nothing but the same old?
Yes software development is industry full of hacks, 90% of software is superfluous, 99% of people on this industry could be killed and nothing really important would break, blame the faggots who created the myth that a programmer is 6 figures high society job instead of basement dweller.

GameUI =/= Engine UI.
An UI must be intuitive and the more similar they look, the easier it is for developers to change to different engines depending on their purpose.
In fact, any production based software should work this way. Propietary based software is unintuitive on purpose because it creates a learning curve that entices users to learn through courses or degrees from institutions that pay millions of dollars a year to be allowed to use their software for teaching purposes.

Again, stupid fuck, you are sharing game UIs, not UIs dedicated to building them.
You've clearly have never worked with production software your entire life so you don't understand the difference and how important it is to have uniformity with production based software.
