all of europe doesn't have a good software industry
we just don't pay enough for it to be as enticing, and all the restrictive data protection laws and shit make it hard to yolo tech unicorns compared to the US

>we just don't pay enough for it to be as enticing
Nobody has the will really.
Money is a factor but ultimately nobody wants to build things for the sake of it.
Even in the US it's "software" industry is split between entrenched companies and startups just hoping to get a bag.

There really is no true spirit in anything people do anymore and its going to eat the west alive if it doesn't wake up.

The UK became an overregulated nanny state. This impeded the creation of small businesses and startups. This means the UK missed the tech startup boom of the 90's and 2000's, and the resulting gains of having your own tech giants to hire local SWEs. The British are arguably better at tech than Americans so it wasn't a problem with talent, just circumstances and desire. Socialism hurts.

This is the nefarious thing, it's rarely any one off policy. It builds up over time and at every level of government. Look into what it takes to start a software small business in the UK and legally register it and that's where you will find out. Step after step after step, waiting, high cost to employ fellow Brits. It isn't as simple as "I have a company now" and it discourages most.

In the US you avoid most if the bullshit if you have money.
Live in a decent neighborhood, you probably have multi-gig ethernet, lower crime rates, people are nicer, etc
Gainful employment often means health insurance with no cost to you.
You can get any food you want.
Overall there is still more to do and have which is why people move to the US.
The EU is probably better if you want to just be a normie and never aspire to anything but everyone with talent still prefers the US because they don't punish those who do aspire to be something.

There's no point in making these roundabout assessments of overall money in/money out. There's a metric called purchasing power index and the US beats the UK by about 50%. Move to the US for a 50% pay rise across all jobs, probably more in certain industries.
The obesity rates are pretty much the same too. The UK is the fat man of Europe.
Combo it with this (>>105754738) and the US is the better choice so long as you don't mind the culture, which is more subjective. The UK doesn't have any left anyway.

Was in the UK last year for two weeks for work and was blown away with how fucking brown it was. Arabs/persians/jeets everywhere. There were more brown immigrants than anyone else in London and Manchester. A lot in Edinburgh but not nearly as much.

I joked with my Brit coworker that they got reverse colonized and he was visibly upset.

Can we not have those >>>/pol/ threads? It's pointless even. Look:
This is way beyond the tipping point. The trend will not be reversed. Europe will have no industry soon. Most European people will not exist much further. You're watching a corpse twitching after it's death. There is nothing you can do about it realistically. Your commentary is a waste of time, it is not going to trigger anything that it isn't far too late for. It is also pointless how the people of the global west are pointing fingers at each others in a fashion that is indistinguishable from 'haaa haaa you gkt it even worse than us! '
Live your life. Make the best of it. There's nothing left you can do for such a thing as your culture, your nation, civilisation, humanity or any such thing. Just be a decent person and live out your life. No need to be a crybaby about the past.
