I have 4 floor standing fans. They don't help when it reaches almost 30c indoors when the sun hits the apartment.

I get that you guys in america has like 3% humidity and can handle boiling temperatures, it's different in europe.

my recent breakthrough is understanding humidity after having bought a higrometer
it really does matter
40-50 RH you can get by at 30c+ indoors with just a fan
but getting to 60 or over is absolute hell
I do have an AC thoughbeit but I can save some cost by using it mainly as a dehumidifier

Midwestfag here. I set my AC at 72 in the summer.
The winters are colds, and the summers are hot. We get -20F streaks commonly, and often hit multiple days over 95
Texas austin goes from avg jan low of 40 to avg aug high of 95.6
Wisconsin madison goes from avg jan low of 9.3 to avg jul high of 82.1
NYC is 26.2 to 84.2 respectively.
The deep south can also get temps over 103 and a dew point even higher, which means without actively trying to cool yourself, you die, sweat won't help you.

Lools like a small cooling device. Anything that blows out cool air will spit out even hotter air out the other end.
So you need a way to dump the waste heat outside, otherwise you are just heating your room.
Tiny units are less efficient, but you aren't using them to cool a whole room, just for a smaller cool directed breeze.
So I guess think if it like a deskfan that shoots out cooled air.

Those >>105754228 are literal scams.
They have a water tank and dribble water on a membrane with a fan behind it. The idea is to make the water evaporate which causes the membranes to cool. The idea is to let the fan pull hot air from the room in the back, cool it by pulling it through the membranes and supposedly blow cool air out the front.

The issue is that it does fuck all especially in a tiny hand sized cube like that.
All you do is enriching your ambient air with EVEN MORE HUMIDITY (which is of course what you really love in hot temperatures) and best of all - you're cultivating mold inside the device. So basically you're paying for a device to blow fresh spores into your face all day erry day. WHAT A DEAL!

You're far better off simply using a normal ass fan on your desk and let your bodily fluids take care of the evaporation cooling effect directly on your skin.

It's not so bad, you get used to it. I enjoy going for long runs on the hottest, most humid days. Just absolutely pouring sweat, feels very cleansing like running in a sauna I guess. Plus absorbing all those happy sunshine rays makes you feel good. :D

Just blowing air on your sweaty skin works just as well as having a damp membrane in front of your fan that is blocking 80% of the airflow and is 5 degrees cooler than the ambient temperature.

Just buy a big desk fan and arrange ventilation from other room.
Hum of the fan will also drown everything else.
I used to use that kind of setup all the time when I lived in London. And even know, back in my old country (no it's not "India" for the US folks) I still like to use fan because of the white noise.

Dogs don't sleep at night because they're technically warding the house in case an intruder enters it, it's basically in their genes.
Said that, they shouldn't spend all night barking, so that's actually something on the owners not taking proper care of the dog and teaching him proper manners.

I usually just get sick from the AC if it's running too much for some reason

must be either psychological/placebo or you're just catching a cold from other people, the idea that being cold makes you sick is a myth it just makes you marginally more likely to catch something when you get exposed to it

AC takes a lot of humidity out of the air so while you're not "getting sick" the dry air can give you similar symptoms (irritated nose, coughing)

Euros need to switch to air pumps that can do both heating and cooling. A lot seem fixated on the kind that can heat water to replace existing boilers for radiators, but most euro houses need to be retrofitted so they can take advantage of the benefits of central air and it's A/C like properties to provide cooling in the summers.

Never mention that your country is hot because it will always trigger people from other countries with hot weather.
They can't comprehend the fact that people from different countries handle heat differently
Yes we get it your country is 60Cยฐ right now, but you would probably cry if you had the average winter of most countries.
