Support for Maxwell-, Pascal-, and Volta-based GPUs
The release 580 series will be the last to support GPUs based on the Maxwell, Pascal, and Volta architectures.

RIP IN PEACE MAXWELL, PASCAL & VOLTA

This means fucking nothing. If you actually believe that Nvidia has up until this point been hard at work optimizing the latest shit for Maxwell and Pascal, then you're a fucking idiot. There's been no point updating your drivers as an owner of one of those cards in years. It's just a placebo to keep dumb gaymers happy and thinking that they're getting some sort of upgrade, because they're never going to read the actual changelog.

>Never overcorrected like this again and has been steadily providing worse products with defective components
There's no reason to buy any Nvidia GPU after Pascal.

The last time I updated my GPU drivers was the Kyro Hercules II driver specifically to bring compatibility with Mafia. Do people actually waste time updating drivers after their first clean format on a new computer/card?

Nvidia's later GTX 970 drivers prioritized the 0.5GB slower ram first, to gimp the card.

The 3080 was a good card at MSRP. It isn't directly Nvidia's fault that you were unable to buy them for anything close to that for years thanks to the crypto boom. They course corrected again after giving people too much performance with that though, banishing the x80-class cards to smaller dies and eradicating the x80 Ti line entirely. Now you have to pay x90 prices if you want the big die.

Meme tech like path tracing and frame gen/mfg are kind of cool the first time you see them.
I can't think of anything else. If I stuck with the 980ti and a 1080p screen I don't think I would have missed out on anything substantial.
