Sorry OP but you're not there yet. The typical journey is
> 1. start on bleeding edge,
> get "update" fatigue
> tired of feeling like a beta tester

> 2. Install debian
>"finally just werks"
> wait ... nothings happening--it's too stable!
>It's been days and I haven't had an update!
> wait that new version of <x software> looks really cool I wonder when debian stable will get it
> heheh maybe I'll just install enable Sid
> ((breaks everything))

and the cycle continues

Anon I know what you are talking about. It's called Shiny New Stuff Syndrome. It is very real, very serious, and it affects millions every year. It is very easily preventable thoughever:

It's embarrassing and cringe, there so much good shit in newer version kernels
Debian is good for like 3 months after a new major release and then sucks for desktops, it's server software

It's embarrassing that you don't even know what you talking about.

The new stable (Trixie) will still be "old".
There is unstable (Sid) and if you need faster go to Ubuntu with have a fast release branch.

Fuckwits like you spout this utter bullshit all the time to unsuspecting anons.
Debian unstable receives no (as in fucking zero) security updates from Debian, it's all on individual package maintainers who mostly don't give a shit about it and just do it for stable
Now either your a glowie or a complete idiot telling people to install unstablem A glowie I could forgive, it's just a job.
Anyone else I can't, you're a naive dumbfuck telling people this stuff and really need to be mocked for it until you stop.
Debian unstable is one of the most dangerous distros on earth to install as a personal computing device

Debian is *the* LTS distro. It has better LTS than Ubuntu. There's a reason so many server boxes run Debian, it's designed for long-term stability.

Then you reinstall and use Testing repos and have a little self control to wait a month for X feature to be released to testing after 98% of the bugs are worked out.

Took you long enough, been chilling with Debian stable since 2022. Flatpaks, Appimage and Distrobox make it easy. I don't even need to backport anything, but the option is always there.
