I don't get why new formats are even made
We have effectively unlimited power in our pockets for anything a web browser can do
All the formats show all the colours
None of them do crazy artifacting anymore
I just don't get it

Just use the file formats from the 90s that just work. Even a potato can decode a jpeg.

>probably talking about image formats
as retarded as it is, they're actually getting pretty efficient. figuring out a solution to corrupted transmissions other than sheer redundancy is the most obvious place for improvement.

>muh efficiency
It's not the damn 90s
We don't need efficiency
Nobody gave a flying fuck that flash was a resource hog and the PCs at the time were underpowered cause it was fun
Now the comparatively super computers we all use need something to improve load times by .000001 second? Or save 2 MB of space on a massive cloud drive?
