most people can barely afford their car and they need that for everyday life, a multipurpose humanoid robot is beyond the purchasing power of the mass markets to make it cost effective to bother way because the wealthy simply go the next step and hire a live in maid or personal chef
if you want robots, you need to make low skilled labor scarce and expensive so that robots have an advantage

I sort of agree with this, but the price tag and unreliability will make it a niche market. 2030 before we get "actual" bots on the market.
