X11/Xorg works on my machine. Wayland is a buggy glitchy mess that lacks many features. There is no "wars", only IBM/RedHat pushing a technology made for kiosks onto everyone else because it suits their business needs. Users, and myny developers, reject it because it's an inferior solution to what exists. That's really all there's to it.
