Every time I want to configurate something, be it open source or paid software, and the piece of shit asks for a (static) IP address, I know I'm dealing with room temperature IQ developers. Yes, I'm talking about you, you fucking moron. How difficult is it to resolve a fucking hostname? Good software was able to do this in 1999. Now I have to log into my DHCP server and reserve a static IP for no fucking reason. You are incompetent and I hate you. I wish your router would randomly drop ARP packets and you have to spend hours debugging that shit every day.

Lots of poopy routers don't actually support DDNS and whatever else, mDNS I think works for linux fags. There might be workarounds though. If you can send a host name through to DHCP and can get it to talk to DNS it'll work. Pretty sure you need dnsmasq for it to run. Or some kind of internal DDNS.

In other words, it's generally more of a pain in the ass than you'd think.
