The power went out for a few hours. Instead of having to wreak my vision worse than it already is by using my phone I just kept on computing because my laptop has a super compact built in UPS. I will never "upgrade" to a desktop computer no matter how small they make them.

Are these things still dirt cheap? I was thinking of picking one up for emulation purposes.

When buying these check the listings carefully as there's 2 different types; 35W and 65W. The 65W ones can take most standard CPUs but the 35W ones need the energy efficient T type of CPUs. Mine came with an i5 6500 but I replaced it with an i3 7300 because I thought 4Ghz with 2cores/4threads might be better than 3.2Ghz 4c/4t. I know the i5 has 3.6Ghz turbo but I don't think it can do that for all 4 cores at once while the i3 is 4Ghz on both all the time.

Is the 3400GE one better than 2400G pro? The former runs on 35W only right?

When my last PC died I got one of these refurbished ones for less than $300 and it's been great. I don't see a real reason for more unless you do heavy gaming or compile software constantly.
