Windows vs Linux? Which way please?

I play games, so Linux is not an option for me. I own modern hardware, so Linux is out of question. I guess Windows was made for me, even though I hate the bloated shit and forced AI. Just install Win10 or 11 LTSC and try to cope somehow.

Both are terrible. Microsoft are running Windows into the ground, while Linux is fundamentally a bad joke: what if we hacked up a desktop operating system derived from the principles of a hacked-up 1970s multi-user mainframe system, taping together solutions until we're not even sure how to answer questions like "how do you draw a window"?

People are exaggerating when they say everything Just Works™ these days, but most games do. The main exceptions being games that are using kernel-level spyware, and you'll have some outliers with problems like your post.
For games outside of steam there will be some setup required, like making a prefix and setting paths to exe files that would just work automatically on windows (because they're fucking made for windows, duh), but if you're willing to spend like 3 minutes doing that then you should be fine in the majority of cases.

Linux is shit, always was and the more you use it the more you understand there is no fixing it.
Mac doesn't have useful software so it's a toy.
Windows is a jack of all trades master of all.
