So age verification is coming we all know it's coming and can't stop it. I don't like it the way it is now but I can see the benefits.
So I decided "when life gives you lemons make lemonade"
I'm think of starting a campaign similar to Stop Killing Games but it asks that the following:
1. Make it so that all age verification systems use Zero Knowledge Proofs.
This means that while proof of the ID's validity is provided to the service I want to use, neither the service know who I am, nor does the government know that I specifically signed up for said service.
2. Make it so that services only ever request the minimum legally required ID data. Additional information is not only not required but it is also not promoted. It only exists as an optional setting you need to actively search for and enable. With an exception for things like postal services which obviously require an address.

What do you guys think of this?

No, it should not be optional, it shouldn't be an option at all, minimum ID data should be all it can get, if you want the additional information type it in yourself. It should not even be possible for them to receive anything but the absolute bare minimum information required for age verification.

Maybe I mistyped it but yes, at no point is a should a service require the user to provide additional identifiable data.

For example if a service can legally function without the use of a phone number it _cannot_ require the user to input their phone number.
If a service is _legally required_ to have age verification it must only require age verification via a system of Zero Knowledge Proof.
If you want to add additional data to any of these services for easier logins, it is not promoted, you must on your own go to in the settings and do it yourself.

And what I'm saying is that the system should only exist for age verification and nothing else, it shouldn't be able to give anyone any extra data at all, no matter which service it is or what it's legally required to know about its users.

how is it going to function if it legally required to have some data but can't require it for it's use.
I'm also thinking about things like banks here which are required by law to know your name.

I think the age verification for only fans works well you don't need an id unless the facial recognition flags you as under 25

anon we don't want facial recognition.
I don't want my face data trained on or anything.
If that means onlyfans dies so be it. There's already a ton of porn on the internet.

anon I don't care if it's a pointless scam, ID verification is slowly becoming legalized and enforced.
I want to protect privacy.
This can be used on other things besides age verification.

Make the users input that data themselves, with their fingers, using their keyboard like our ancient ancestors did. The age verification system should be an age verification system and nothing more than that.

no anon it actually needs to be verified.
That is the law being suggested by government right now anon.
Because otherwise you can just lie.
