In a lot of military operations, intelligence agencies, and professional crime, there is a lot of compartmentalization of operations knowledge. You can't rat out on someone if you have no idea what's going on outside of your small task. This minimizes the damage that could be done on an operation or a group of people from any one person ratting or being a mole / informant. Are there any nice redpills on this? I would actually love to read more about how this is done and if anybody has come up with a fundamental set of rules for such a thing like compartmentalization of operations knowledge. Are there other terms for this?

Although it might not seem appropriate, this is likely the best board to post such a thread on.

not much to it, its called systems of trust, if you can invent one that is powered by moral goodness you have basically solved humanity. even religion didn't really work.

Need-to-Know Basis is what chatgpt told me, but this doesn't encompass the entire idea of compartmentalization. I figure there's more too it, like intentionally making people's tasks more specific and less general.

It's a question of how necessary is it for the risk profile because there is a cost in efficiency. When I worked at one of the largest retailers, we had a team a fifteen developers, along with all the UI designers, project managers, business analysts, and engagement managers that come along with a project. We spent about a year working on new software for their mobile ordering system. We finished on time but our product was never rolled out because there was a group in another part of the company that had been working a couple of years on a new hardware system for ordering, which was completely incompatible with our software. Neither group knew the other existed.

this website is so full of retards now. Separation of concerns and principle of least privilege.

Migrate to a better site if you actually want knowledge. These retards are 90% bots, 9% bots-in-the-flesh, and 0.5% toddlers in adult human body suits.

that you dont share the same morality, is another thing
fuck, 99.9% of people are moral, including criminals
how many would kill children for the cause?
and even then, in certain societies that was a moral thing to do
like sparta

you know shit about me
when it comes to the clan im irrational as fuck
i have a stronger parental/clanlike instinct than ALL the people you ever met, put toegether
i know i have that instinct but its something to celebrate, so i only enhance it when i can

The word is compartmentalization
Or security through compartmentalization/security through isolation (at least when talking about software)

idk how good it is in the case of the french
ruskis left the final decisionmaking in the hands of the soldiers in the field
and that saved us a world war

there was also an american
his name isnt mentioned but we should remember him
there was an IT worker, basically, who said "nah, das unlikely. lets check systems first"
he wasnt in the chain of command, but people listened to him
and so we dont live in chernobyl planet now

there was also a case where the swedes almost started ww3 with a satelite launch

Interesting that the lesson didn't seem to percolate up or was lost during the transition between presidents as it wasn't until after watching 'WarGames' that President Reagan became interested in the possibility of a false alarm, perhaps set intentionally, causing a nuclear war.

Business is performed through the construction of trust. That's why in peace times old networks are valuable, they have trust value.

In security operations the only piece of data I can share is how the CO and XO receive the critical information to activate the GNUKES inside submarines.

The receive ONE USE PADS and then they guess the values the other received based on the data they got themselves for the paper that, today, can only be activated by biometrics.

Proof of identity is the whole point of this. From the Open Source Security Testing Methodology Manual Three

>the reason why Identification and Authorization cannot be expressed operationally is because neither can be transferred. Identity exists as is and while the means of identification, as a process, is an operational aspect, the actual process is to verify a previously provided identity from another source or from the latest in a chain of sources

Data is the representation of facts from the real life, or reality as a whole if you want.
That representation can be corrupted. Can be fake.
