When I was a kid, I used to think video games were just movies where everything you did was already predicted and pre-recorded by the """"developers""""" aka film-maker hacks just predicted the entire future of your input and when buttons would be pressed.

When I was a kid, sometimes I would wonder if every computer controlled video game character was actually secretly controlled by just huge warehouses of people somewhere in the world.
And I wondered if someday, one of them would ever break the rules and ask for help, and I wouldn't be able to do anything to help them.
Just imagine being sat in a cubicle in a gigantic room of cubicles and your whole job is just to be one of those townspeople wandering back and forth in Pokemon Silver...

When I was a kid, I believed that video game characters sleep inside the memory card, when the playstation is turned off.

I thought the same thing, that the game devs had to make every single possible frame of gameplay that was possible as an image, and all those images were stored on the game disc and played back in a specific order depending on your inputs

If you ever played cd-rom based full motion video type games, then you aren't exactly wrong

I thought only Japanese people made every single video game and basically every piece of technology came from Japan or the best stuff was in Japan

The only technology I thought America made was guns and bombs
