AI could be cool, for example if LLMs could produce good responses they could help making amazing games. Too bad they completely suck since they're simply not there yet (and probably won't be for a looong time) and got neutered to be less offensive.

>>105794942
Personally it depends on how you use it. They are absolutely vile for society but that's mostly because of the apps and could easily happen with desktop PCs or laptops too.

the specific danger with smartphones is that they're highly portable little cameras with constant internet access. you just can't achieve the same level of social corrosion through desktops or laptops, because they're much harder for normalfags to use habitually, rely on more localized internet access, and are much less likely to have cameras and mics built-in.

i mean, i consider instagram to be peak rot, and it simply could not exist in its current form without smartphones.

Apparently they're pretty bad in big city's, downtown areas, and colleges. "Bad" as in badly used. From what I read people are just leaving them in random places like children who leave their toys in the yard and the people who drive them drive in and out of all traffic since they don't have to obey most traffic laws. They can come out of nowhere and you'll never see them. Luckily I never seen them in my area but they sound pretty horrific from I hear.

>why do people hate them so much?
they are stupidly dangerous
I'm not talking about them spontaneously combusting all the time, that's a whole another issue.

>ride them on a sidewalk
very easy to crash into a pedestrian
I know 2 people who were ran over by retarded e-scooter users
>ride them on the road
very easy to get yourself killed; cars weight orders of magnitude more
I saw an e-scooter crash with my own eyes.

They are incredibly fast for their small wheels and overall lack of safety features. I often see 2 people riding on one e-scooter. That's really stupid too. Just use bicycles. They're much more safe, you don't look ridiculous while using them and you do cardio while riding them.

>>105795008
True, but it's not worth it.

>Littered everywhere
>Shit and unreadable silhouette for instant pattern recognition, so easily embroiled in traffic accidents
>Rented out to retards even dumber than ebike renters and capable of going at high speeds, basically importing a fraction of Indian traffic conditions to western countries
>Awful failure mode in crashes leading to significant injury
>The impulse use nature of them means that they will likely be used without a helmet or other safety equipment
>Crash prone
>Adding traffic with logistics and retrieval services
>Literally just an unprofitable IPO tech scam for goyim shareholders
They're just so shit. I do hate ebikes more, since they can go more places and they caused everyone in my area to close down the public paths that lead over their property due to reckless ebikers ramming into tractors or whatever, so now all the foot and real bike traffic is more limited.

A bicycle is much more stable, much easier to spot, hardly ever goes 30mph and while still being used by mostly retards, the bicycle's user base is significantly less retarded than the e-scooter's user base.
Also the problem of running into pedestrians, which is THE main problem of e-scooters is pretty much non-existent when it comes to bicycles because the vast majority of them ride on the road. It is not safe but it is much safer.

Yeah those are pretty dangerous but cool. I'd actually be interested in using one for commute if they didn't require as much gear as a motorcyclist, except if it suddenly stops mid-movement you'll at least break few bones nevertheless.

I've been going to work with public e-scooters for few days to try them out. I can see how they're a bit sketchy to drive, you must keep your both hands on the handlebar unless you wish to displace your shoulder. The handling is very unstable relative to bicycles.

Another interesting feature is the pricing scheme. They're billed by minutes used, not travel distance. This means that you're incentivized to drive as fast as you can to minimize travel cost. So no wonder there's lots of accidents with them.

i mean every technology was created to help advance humanity in the whole world, but there are some people who want to use and are using those technologies not to advance anything, but to weaponize and destroy whatever there is available for destruction.

fucking THIS: cars are evil. unless you actually need to move 100s or 1000s of kilograms of stuff, you shouldn't need a car at all. they are inefficient af too.
I hope cars get banned some day, at least for people and couples that don't really need anything more than 2 seats.

Having used the electric scooters, electric bikes, and of course cars, electric bikes are my favorite. The scooters are just worse in every way. They even make folding bikes if you REALLY want to shove your method of transport in a locker or whatever.

Problem is weather and the US having no support for anything that isnโ€™t a car. You sure as fuck do not want to take a personal electric transport out on the road without signing a will beforehand. Not an option, especially in a country so full of psychotic browns who either learned to drive six months ago or learned to drive on the wrong side of the road back home.
