KDE's Dolphin explorer did not have this problem.
Linux is not some unified heap of slop. You have OPTIONS, unlike the macfags.
But I'm not a UNIX or UNIX-like fan at all. I'd rather keep donating to ReactOS so we get a FOSS Windows clone.
Fuck package managers and fuck UNIX.
Only reason I respect Linux is because it's FOSS/LIBRE.
KDE project is cool though since their programs like KDEnlive and Krita work outside of UNIX and UNIX-likes too.

I can't daily drive Linux anyway because Affinity doesn't work on it. I have been getting tired of Windows lately though so macOS has been a consideration.

I do use Blender so if I do get a Mac, I'd like to know which models have good ray tracing performance.

apple really baffle me, sometimes they fix or add something demanded in the blink of an eye
other things like window snapping, an objectively great feature introduced by windows 7 16 years ago is still not present in current macos and is the first 3rd party app everyone installs
they must intentionally not want to copy something someone else did which is insanely retarded

We had filepickers with thumbnails on Linux in 2008 but for whatever reason this was completely memoryholed and is now used against Linux. I'm not the only one remembering this am I?
