I replace shit around the house all the time, little plastic brackets that break.
Most of the time my designs are better because I can see how the original broke and reduce stress concentrations or thicken as appropriate.

They're certainly useless to the type of person who is so lazy that they can't even type out a post of their own.

Yes. If you want to fabricate shit get a lathe and mill. Or a fancy n-axis cnc mill if you're loaded. You don't have to use metal you can always use shit like HDPE or whatever and fabricate arbitrary goods. Also a furnace if you must for casting parts, and of course learn to work with fiberglass and epoxy for "shell" parts.

For most people they are useless; For people building real life things they are useful.
Great for mock-up, great for casting and composite molds, great for replicating or improving expensive, hard to find, or NLA parts where plastics are suitable or desired.

plastics are strong, lightweight, and have good elasticity characteristics for things like clips and retainers. Things that are much more expensive to produce out of metal.

I can put it in a big ugly white 90% empty electrician junction box and stick on some dymo labels for the buttons, no this doesn't look poorfag at all

3D printers are great, and you are genuinely a low-quality person if you can't see the value in being able to fabricate your own arbitrary mechanical parts.

>lead poisoning from 3D printed parts
Don't tell this guy about brass doorknobs.

This is what 3D Pronters fags believe.

This one gets it.

>plastics are strong, lightweight, and have good elasticity characteristics for things like clips and retainers
Only 3D printed plastics are ALWAYS WEAKER then injection molded parts.

>mechanical parts.

Literally impossible. Everyone tried and it is impossible 3D printed mechanical parts disintegrate themselves in less then 24h.

>OH YEA!
>I SIMPLY KEEP ON PRINTING A NEW ONE EVERY DAY!

Or you can buy metal made ones who cost pennies and will last you for decades online. You are a retard.
The fact that you retards post these lies is why people hate 3D printers.

Serious question for print fags.

Is like your home full of plastic trash you print every 10 days from the internet?
Like do you collect your cape shit marvel character prints?

Or what?
Because you idiots clearly insist that its a necessary tool....
And by god I did no need to use real life tools that often as you print your trash!

Do you collect the trash you 3D print or do you throw it all away? I do not give a shit about the le wast or le save the planet meme. I am simply curious.

The fact that you poison yourself and you home with microplastics and lead or other toxins from 3D printing is far more concerning.

You find it hard to comprehend someone could design and make something at home?

>Only 3D printed plastics are ALWAYS WEAKER then injection molded parts.
define "weaker". Tension? compression? flexural? notch hardness? brittleness?

kek you fucking retard.

A skilled hobbyist can make parts from wood for their projects. Which will have better mechanical properties. You can even whittle brass.
The 3d printer is for people with soft hands
