Color control so you get a warm light to read at night is incredibly common in new devices to the point that it's more notable when they don't have it. Devices without front light exist in a specific note taking niche, e.g. Remarkable 2, Supernote X2 or Boox Go 10.3 and Note Max.
You could get one of the older Kobo Clara (not the current Clara BW or Colour) and replace the internal SD card with a larger one. Kobo Libra 2 had 32GB.
Or get a Boox reader which have 32GB+ out of the box and include a microSD slot in the 6" and 7" models.
Kindle with 32GB exist but are overpriced, you may check for used models in your area.
