Asahi runs fine on m1, not sure about m2+, and the late 2018 ones run fine if you use a T2 kernel or a distro that has it by default, you just need to run a script to extract the firmware for the wifi from your mac partition or a recovery image if you don't have macOS installed.

i've never had a mac before. but it honestly looked truly appealing at one point. it seemed to be the best of both worlds of windows vs linux.
