See, this is a great example. This meme about Wayland has to be from years and years ago or something, and you fags have just sewn your assholes together and have been shitting it back and forth the whole time.

I can't get over how fucking terrible cursor latency in Wayland is. How the fuck do people handle 33ms of delay, and people retarded? Have they never used any other desktop? It's crazy how absolute fucking shit Wayland is at handling cursor inputs. This is basic. Not fit for use.

SSH forwarding kind of sucks anyway but it's too bad that XDMCP never got proper encryption in transit.
Imagine desktop sessions on big servers where your desktop is the x server and the remote server is running intensive CAD stuff on as the x client.

Genuinely wonder, how do remote desktops work in this age of GPUs and hw video decodes? Sounds like the old school way of transferring mostly static bitmaps and draw operations cant work anymore. Do they just stream video?

This exact mentality is what makes linux an operating system for sweaty neckbeards. You guys need to understand that people wont to actually do things on their computers other than ricing their desktops and making mean posts on mastodon. Thats why most people still uses windows on the desktop despite the fact that its getting progressively worse since Windows 7. Honestly if it wasn't for all the linux shillls openly lying about the most essential computer security, 7 would still have bigger user base than your toy OS.

imagine being so out of touch with what normal input latency and smooth frame pacing feels like you need someone to benchmark it for you.

benchmark it yourself using an uncomposited X11 window manager. Post your numbers. You won't, because you already know the results.

a server because you are too lazy to learn how to everything through ssh, and instead prefer using a GUI.
but servers are usually headless, so you might have a ubuntu server but it doesn't have gnome installed, so you could just install whatever x11 de or whatever supports remote access.
I assume with RDP properly set up, you could easily just copy files from the server to the client, and with more setup you could share files between the server and client. I'm sure SSH has commands for copying files but unless you automate it or you have very low specs (1gb ram), I don't see the point.

it's a video + the mouse cursor should be emulated so it doesn't feel slow.

That's how it works yes. Imagine you are playing a game and you move your cursor near the end of the frame on x11 with no compositor and vsync disabled. The latency can be near 0ms depending on when in the frame you moved your mouse. With forced vsync the latency is almost always at least 1 frame, usually more.
