Windows 10's EOL made this inevitable. This is the end of Nvidia pure GPU era. Windows 11's successor will not support these architectures.
MFG is the future, whatever you like it or not.

only one surprising is the titan v, its very similar to turing, just lacking the rt cores. cost thousands, if you need any proof that nvidia is gay , that would be it.

I've recently upgraded to a 9060 xt from nvidia and the driver experience has been worse for me
>adrenaline interferes with fan control software
>custom resolution far more clunky
>comes with more bloatware you have to remove
>but also has less customisation overall

it's not a big deal, but it is objectively worse

I guess my friends are contrarian schizos for mentioning their blackscreening problems after updating drivers on their 30 series cards.
I used a 1070 Ti for years without ever updating my drivers and I had no issues with it.

>Oh no, not the driver updates that keep causing BSODs and No-Signals for a solid year that just gets wont-fixed whenever you bring it up.

People owning those cards are the lucky ones, i say this as a 4080 owner.

Watch as the Windows baby ducks download and install unsigned GPU drivers from a Google Drive linked in a Chinese Youtube video in 5 years when they want to play SlorpoShoot 9 X (now with kernel-level spyware) to try and fix an instant game launch crash

So far only developer support has been dropped. Meaning you won't get updates for CUDA so you can't use it for AI purposes. Not that a lot of people used CUDA libraries for AI purposes on those cards anyway. You can still use VULCAN backend for AI purposes anyway and lose some % performance if you want.

Regular driver support will continue for about a year and from my experience GPUs hold out pretty well for a year or two after receiving the last driver update in terms of being able to start and run games fine.

This means people with any of these cards can probably stave off upgrading for 1-3 years time still if they wanted.

I have a RTX 3090 that I bought second hand for $250. So it isn't about money for most people as you can buy cards an order of magnitude faster than whatever you have for relatively low cost.

That said the issue with upgrading in my personal case is usually that it's too much effort. Not even about the monetary costs but having to bust out the PC into the office and replace parts and then do benchmarks and tests usually eats up an entire day which is very scarce if you are a working adult with kids like me and I assume a lot of /g/ oldtimers.

Just a protip for future buying. Don't buy from second hand marketplaces like ebay. Instead look at refurbished equipment usually industrial websites locally. It's sold wholesale. I bought 2 RTX3090s for $500 total and gave one away as a gift. They were "mining cards" and thus sold for cheap because the refurbishment plant doesn't know the value of these cards and because retards think mining cards are destroyed.

In reality mining cards are almost mint and better than gaming cards because the load on them is consistent and not taxing, most miners undervolt their cards to get better energy efficiency out of them meaning they were barely taxed.

I always buy my hardware through refurbishment sales. And I mean ALL my hardware. eReaders/Tablets/Motherboards/RAM modules/Server CPUs ALL of it.

It's significantly cheaper and I assume most Ebay sellers are middle men that buy them up and then resell them.
