>>105817637>They have their own crazy world where they have the power to do things their wayThat sounds more like the Hollywood fetishized version of Savantism rather than everyday Autistm. Those people are extremely rare, there are maybe less than 400 savants identified who are alive today. And savantism, by definition, means they have crippling social or intellectual disabilities that come along with those talents. Else they'd just be an everyday genius rather than a savant
strongly agree with this though:
>they like solving problems ... It's like a drug for autistsyes, problem solving and learning are incredibly addictive for me. But no, I don't have some secret vivid world that I retreat to. It's more like physical & emotional sensations are intense, and my mind is constantly in the background categorizing things and trying to translate them into problem-solving.
Yes I can have a visually vivid mind theater and imagine an apple, colors, rotations, sounds...but I do not believe that is unique to spergs (also hallucinogens amplify that ability)
just a zoned out thinker that doesn't always pick up on social queues super quickly, but Im not socially unaware either. high IQ probably just from virtue of tackling problems over and over and from genes, not from autistic skill boost. struggle with life skills
t. just my perspective
