The fact that people who pursue advanced degrees are 'rewarded' with tens of thousands of dollars of debt is the root cause of the decline of technological advancement. It encourages people to not pursue understanding in the technologies they use. The people who do put themselves in debt end up as indentured slaves who never have time or money to experiment with advancing technology or their understanding of it.

Rich people do not have a motivation to pursue technological degrees, as they just want to ride off of mommy and daddy's money and smoke crack at baby oil parties.

China has more hackers than the United States. The people who maintain military equipment, central servers, and critical infrastructure are aging out and there is nobody to replace them. You cannot use AI to solve these problems or replace the people who do these jobs because their work is so esoteric that there isn't enough training data to create an AI model to do that work reliably.

We are going to witness a catastrophic collapse of the west as it loses its ability to defend or maintain itself, and it will get picked apart and plundered by Israel, Russia, and China and its inhabitants directly or indirectly enslaved.

The problem isn’t the cost of education. It’s suppression of wages from imported slave labor. You could make college free and it still wouldn’t be worth the tine investment when entry level engineering jobs pay 35k due to jeetspam. And even at that wage, companies prefer to import labor because foreigners will work extra hours for free.

you don't NEED an "advanced" degree to advance technology. you need a garbage and second hand lab hardware from the 70s and know how to file out a patent application. Universities are a scam and only drooling savages pile up debt by going to grad school. Undergrad degree at your state college gives you best bang per buck, you get an alumni email to read papers from journals and access to the on campus labs.
