What else can I pivot into that won't require me to spam applications 24/7 and/or work with large amounts of foreigners? Kinda wishing I went into engineering at this point.

You could pivot into ee if you're good with physics. I'd just work on personal projects to build a portfolio, send out applications and work a summer job until something good pops up

Honestly, lay low and wait for vibe coders to code business into the grave. Someone will have to fix that, and that's when CS people will make fat stacks again.

I'm not sure that's possible since every big company is nakedly replacing anyone they can with a jeet working for $9 per month. I think it's not impossible that all the tech companies crash so hard they screw the global economy for a decade.

kek, CS people complain about the job market but you have to put into perspective that a bad market for CS is a normal market for every other part of STEM.
EE for example has been dry for decades in nearly every western country bar the US and even the US market is bad compared to what it used to be and should be. Aerospace has a handful of job opportunities and you either get them and move wherever they demand, or you go into another career.
And outside of engineering the job market has been tragic for a long time. Graduates in physics for example have something like >7% unemployment in the US, and that market has always been horrendous, and will almost certainly not get better. CS complains it's the end of the world when they've got about 5% right now.
You also have to keep in mind that considering some of the absolutely idiotic posts here that there's a good reason some of them are unemployed.

Indians have been breaking software projects since the 90s and companies still can't get enough of them. Musk has Trump considering lifting the cap on H1Bs entirely. There seems to be no amount of pain from bad code that overrides the desire to pay low wages for software development.

I'm an older millennial and people have been talking about how good plumbing is my whole life.
It's always been one of the 'meme jobs' in the sense that people always talk about how much money they make. Which makes sense since it's generally not something most people pursue(women especially). I mean it's probably true in the money sense.
But all I'm saying is that it's not a new thing.
It will be funny though if people do get squeezed enough through layoffs, and jack of jr hiring or whatever that the supply of plumbers actually goes up enough that the amount they make due to static demand actually drags their salaries down towards the median.

Medicine and finance are jeeted. Most lawyers will never make money. Maybe sales where the commissions are good, but you're on /g/ so you lack the rizz for it in all likelihood.

So, reroll and try to get into a T10 program in whatever field.

It's "even worse" only depending on your perspective. In terms of raw pay, yes, it is worse, but in terms of expectations, I find STEM (specifically science) now gives you one of the worst returns, because the amount of effort required to get really good is very high, and you will almost certainly be paid like shit for compensation. With other fields they don't really have as high expectations to get really good in the first place, and what's more, they aren't lied to nearly as much by the government and almost all of the establishment saying that we need more people with these skills, which is always the case with sciences. They'll tell you all day long about how valuable these skills are (true) but in the end you'll get rugged and paid like shit.

That's more or less accurate. Leaving academia is also tremendously hard, because in reality the rest of the job market now has no idea what to do with you, so basic jobs are a no-go, whereas the jobs that are open to you will be extremely competitive. You're nearly guaranteed to wind up between a rock and a hard place.

The difference to up until corona being that WHITE programmers were still employed and on top of actually doing work, they were fixing shit behind the scenes while hindus were basking in the achievements of the white programmers.
>There seems to be no amount of pain from bad code that overrides the desire to pay low wages for software development.

Well ofcourse, do people think that India, China and even shitholes like Nigeria dont have oversupply of graduates? Generally even if the population only has 10% rate of tertiary education, in the modern world that nation likely only has 5% of jobs requiring higher education, and they are still the jobs paying the best in the country so every piss poor parent will whip their least retarded kid to become scholar in hopes of saving the family.
