at this point its basically a reverse technology transfer and the chinks are helping the us so you have to learn their language.

I don't know if you can work at TSMC just by "learning Chinese". Shit is so technical, you have to be a master at Chinese in order to know what people are talking about.

It's like how lawyers in Korea is one of the toughest professions, because they don't have to know just Korean, but also Chinese, since their constitution is written in Chinese, and so are their ancient law texts.

It's like people who "know Japanese". The people who know N1 can speak day-to-day Japanese or read manga/watch anime without subs. But they'll get fucked if they're asked to translate business or court documents.

Do people here in the US even have the education to work at these places? My understanding was that software was all the buzz in the US and there was a massive deficiency of people who worked in hardware, might make sense if that was the case and the only people capable of working these jobs were foreigners
