Debian Stable (LMDE too for what is worth, doesn't mean much cuz is a respin with an extra repo but it counts) has been the only distro where setting up Nvidia drivers worked for me through their entire support period. Arch comes second.

Arch has some minor hiccups from time to time, but mostly works. Is just that Debian is hassle-free. From all main distros the one that nagged me the most was Fedora. But YMMV.

I only use AMD but I recently compared maybe 10 games between Mint (with Lutris) and Windows 10 and the difference in performance was negligible even with Loss Scaling on the Windows side. Lutris also does FSR a LOT better, like it's not even close.

Using the default nvidia-drivers* package, literally automatically determined by the nvidia-detect command / package, I had everything working and playing games on gtx 1650 / debian 11 / 12
also blacklisting the open-source nouveau driver is easy, and also is done automatically, even manually it would just be one 'echo >>' command
maybe many years ago it was annoying to set up and performance differed greatly between upstream and binary drivers from nvidia, but nowadays if you aren't using gigaGIGA old tech and gigaGIGA old kernel / linux you will be fine with the defaults
also also, AMD doesn't have proper settings GUI and setters for everything (fans, performance mode, colors, etc.) while nvidia does, so what is up with that lol, AMD should fix their shit and add one like adrenaline on windows
