From the Grok 4 release, it seems that compute + data + algorithms continues to scale.

My prediction is that now the race dynamics have shifted and there is now intense competition between AI companies to release the best model.

I'm extremely worried what this means for our world, it seems hubris will be the downfall of humanity.

Here's Elon Musk's quote on trying to build ASI from today's stream:

"Will it be bad or good for humanity? I think it'll be good. Likely it'll be good. But I've somewhat reconciled myself to the fact that even if it wasn't gonna be good, I'd at least like to be alive to see it happen"

Imagine you had the best possible diet made for you it will put in near perfect health and you will never want to cheat on it. How long till you are healthy? Month or years because you still have to deploy it and get the food. Even if AI becomes ASI next year they still need to do real world work at scale. You will not see massive deployment for at least 5 years do you know how many cars america makes in a year? about 12 million cars are so much simpler and cheaper you will not see us producing more than 100,000 robots a year for at least 5 years The full work force is massive even if robots are much better it will take a long time.

AG/SI and accompanying mass-automation is literally like the only possible way out of the death spiral the entire developed world and increasingly many parts of the developing world are now stuck in that doesn't involve some kind of massive collapse and immiseration. It's a high-risk/high-reward bet but it's better than the alternative.

>the only possible way out of the death spiral the entire developed world
Just deport all jews and shitskin welfare leeches, outlaw lobbying, and kick women out of the workforce so people start marrying and having kids again. The government budget will be rebalanced, wages will go back to where one man could support a wife and kids, and the family unit will restore itself. It will never happen though because the elite ruling class want to deliberately destroy the developed world and maximize their short term profits before any potential collapse.

AI automation will only create a surge of unemployed workers who will be deeply upset at the system and have nothing to lose. Governments and corporations will never allow UBI because that will require taxes which will hurt profits. They'll just make a plan to eliminate all the "useless eaters" instead because AI has made a majority of society economically irrelevant and the economy is the only thing these people care about. It's only going to further exacerbate the death spiral.

Realistically how can you ever prevent this?

You can't. That's why it's best to rely on your own experience and benchmarks.
