I see no problem with trashing both
GNOME has made their hostility to user needs and anyone not sucking the girlcock well known for more than a decade. Its reached lunacy level with them.
KDE bought back a lot of goodwill by making Plasma 6 actually nice, taking out a lot of the "krashes" memes. But if they too are going to side against user choice (bold move for a project that differentiates itself on giving users choices) then into the trash it goes as well.
