I read the article, basically the backend database had 123456 as a password, and the vulnerability was not related to AI. The mention of AI is just because applicants have to talk to an AI chatbot in order to submit applications, which is a fact unrelated to the data breach. It's just clickbait since journalists are cockthirsty for putting the word AI in every headline of all time.

so either AI engineers are retarded to use password, or company used AI to make backend which set password.

Some whitehats guessed those credentials for an empty test page of the AI recruitment tool (written by a third party company) after trying prompt injection attacks. From there they were able to find out the API wasnt secure in anyway and they could query data from applicants in other franchises. Each applicant had an ID that incremented by 1 so 64+ million aspiring wagies couldve had their heckin PII leaked. They reported it and it was patched, but its possible one of you figured it out before they did but probably not.
