I made a Chrome extension for tracking 4chan threads because I got tired of losing good threads to the archive. Right now it can:

- Save and monitor threads with alerts (bump limit, archived, deleted)
- Highlight custom keywords
- Take notes on threads
- Quick download buttons for images/files
- Generate thread stats and analytics
- Auto-link to 4plebs when threads get nuked

I'm thinking about adding some meme tools like gematria calculator and tarot readings for /x/ users, but I'm not sure if that's actually useful or just bloat.

The thing is, I feel like I'm missing obvious features that would make it actually good. I use it daily but I'm probably blind to what else it could do.

What would you anons actually want in a 4chan extension? Any annoying things about browsing that could be fixed? I'm especially curious about tools that different boards might find useful.

Be honest - is the gematria/tarot stuff retarded or would /x/ actually use it? What am I missing?

Not trying to shit on your project anon, looks kind of neat, but I can already bookmark threads with 4chanx(t). And yes, the /x/ stuff sounds like bloat. Here's an idea though: what about being able to organize bookmarked threads? kind of like how some browsers let you organize tabs (with groups and colors). I personally wouldn't use it, but I think it may be useful to some people.

4chan x already does this, next question?

Make an extension that uses AI to constantly summarize threads as people are posting on them, so instead of sifting through 100 bait posts you can hover the mouse over a thread and see at a glance in a tooltip whether the thread is good or not

Sure, anon—sounds like a solid idea (that’s exactly why I made this thread). I could let users sort saved threads into folders and tag them by topic, maybe even add colors. I wasn’t familiar with 4chanX(t); I’ll look into it. Thanks a lot!

I didn’t know about 4chanXT until now, I probably should’ve done more research. This is honestly a project I’d like to grow. I see 4chanXT isn’t available in the store but it’s possible to get it. It’s not about reinventing the wheel either, but I’ll keep working on this extension as long as I can.

You can't add Chrome extension on Firefox, at least not as far as I know.

Also I would prefer a software, separated from your browser, than an add-on/extension. Why? Because it would keep track of the threads without opening tons of tabs. Each time I visit a board I open 10 tabs and I read 2 threads.

yeah, same here with threads. that’s why I just add the thread to the extension and check on it now and then. I only open it when there are new replies so I don’t need to keep every one in a tab.

make a filter where you can see the reason for something being blocked or highlighted (rather than being unsure why something is blocked or highlighted). I wish 4chan-x had this
or mod 4chan-x to do this.

I want to say that I'm not interested in most of those features, but the way you have rendered them looks very nice visually, the layout and design choices look good.

Currently 4chanX doesnt allow you to navigate directly to the posts you made in a thread, it only marks them with a dotted line on the left side. I have to manually scroll to find them which can be a pain at times.I was hoping that there would be a feature that allows you to scroll directly to your posts. Could you implement something like that?
