I just wished KDE could draw shadows under CSD windows like GNOME can. It's not a big dealbreaker, but it would make the aesthetics a little nicer.

They're better than GNOME simply because GNOME went full retard and everyone else saw what happened (mass user exodus, death of the project largely, flight of devs to cinnamon, mate, xfce, cosmic, literally anyfuckingthing else).
Make no mistake, KDE devs would love to purge X11 and make it hard depend on systemd, and make you sign a waiver before use that you support girlcock. They just know that they can't do that and get away with it......yet.

You can make KDE look good. Out of the box it looks like Windows for sure but you can tinker everything if you put time for it.
