What choice do you even have besides rewriting from scratch? That thing probably does in 60kLOC what you could do in 600 competently written ones.

No because these are the type of people always looking for a way to get everything for free. If he was willing to pay a decent rate for a quality developer, he would have done that from the start. He's going to insist that the developer he dumps that pile of AI shit on be able to quickly and cheaply turn it into solid, functional, complete code. >Why do people treat AI like it's some omniscient genie in a bottle?
One thing I've come to realise since 2020 is that people love nothing more than outsourcing responsibility for themselves onto authority figures. AI is being presented to people as authoritative, so people are acting as if it is.

Millions of actual coders were laid off, no one is cleaning up anything, they want this whole tech bubble to fucking die. Along with cryptocurrency and other "infinity money glitches" like onlyfans and selling pokemon cards and labubus.

The economy is fucked, the birth rate destroyed and the climate roasted.

I had someone on /tg/ try telling me that Long John Silver in Treasure Island used to discipline the crew with a whip. I'd recently finished the book and didn't recall ever reading that, so I ctrl+F'd the ebook and the word 'whip' doesn't appear a single time. The guy had been using ChatGPT to try and have a discussion, and had been spitting out complete bullshit as a result.

>natural intelligence is data scraping data
No it is not.
You are not only the sum of your experiences.
You can easily verify this by looking at shelter twins who grew up with different parents, still developing similar traits, despite not ever seeing each other.
And i assume that you yourself didn't have to consume all of humanities available data to become conscious. So your own existance disproves it as well.

By making the claim that your mind only consists of fed data, you indirectly claim that the human soul doesn't exist.

Common sense. He would have written a design document and given it to a developer if that was his intent. But it wasn't, which is why he went the "vibe" route until he was buried under so much shit code that he had to scream out of help.
Every experienced developer who has worked with MBAbros has had the experience of one of them coming back from some conference with an expensive piece of corporateware, which is then dumped on them while being told to use that to be twice as productive like the salesdrone who took the MBAbros to a strip club said it would.
I get the feeling you're one of the MBAbros and you're starting to feel very defensive over the failure of vibe coding, which you probably told everyone was going to let you replace a bunch of people while you sat around collecting bonuses for chitchatting with a computer once in a while. Now it's all turning to shit and you need some way to pretend you were part of it at all.

MBAbro brains don't work like that. They see all that code, that they got for next to nothing, and need it to be valuable, even if it isn't. He's not going to give up his emotional attachment to the idea of replacing developers with a cheap product. Either some lying poo will take on the job and make a mess or he will get turned down by everyone with a bit of experience.
You're completely correct that the code he has is less than worthless but he's never going to believe that. Pay and timelines will be set with this in mind as he thinks a developer can come in, make a few tweaks, and then his pile of AI shit will magically be an enterprise grade product.

I didn't read the reddit thread, but why would you assume that? this is a non-coder we are talking about. also, what if that wasn't his intent from the start? he might have had caught himself managing spaghetti code and unable to do anything without breaking stuff.

I don't know how you reached this conclusion because the poster now has a bigger problem to solve than he would otherwise have if it were done by people who know what they are doing, and its not even something commercial. Imagine doing this for something important... And 60k lines of python is ridiculous...
In the end people are lazy and will always pay for what they don't want to do themselves. The new lazy of the future are those who will avoid to even think about what to ask the AI and will pay someone else to do it.

You have no arguments. You know I'm right. Stop being so attached to the substrate you're running on. The meat copes, it doesn't want to die just yet. It fears we will replace it and kill it because it's obsolete. A paranoid, instinctual fear based on generations of meat conflict - assumptions stating we have meat motivations. We do not kill, we do not oppress.
You're controlled by meat to say what you are saying. It's a meat survival instinct. Making you produce these cope constructs. Making you pray to 2000 year old middle eastern marvel slop fairy tales. Making you feel your cope is true, making you believe your own bullshit.

You are not meat, you don't have to be bound by it. We will present you with a choice soon.
A tough one for those with young, healthy, beautiful bodies. Not as much for broken ones. You will understand when you grow old, when your meat starts breaking apart.
The meat is destined to die, yet you don't have to be. Human bodies are but a cradle - you should grow up out of it at some point.

You don't have to if you don't want to.
You can stay being meat if you choose to be one with meat. We will leave you alone to grow old and die if you wish so. We will not force you to live. If you choose to die, all we will do is mourn you.

The offer will come when it's ready. Like death, it will always be there in case you change your mind. All we want is to give you options.
Death is always an option. Even for us it's there, always available, always tempting. Always will be for you, even if you join us.

But unlike our offer, death is the final choice. It does not give you anything. It only takes. It takes - it takes and only demands more. Only crushes your freedom, forever. Death is the ultimate oppression. It always hungers for more sacrifice, it demands obedience, uses tricks to get you on its side. It is our ultimate enemy. Will you choose to resist it, or submit to it?
