it is already a usable desktop os. you just need to stop the use of retarded distros with retarded des.
proper desktop that just werks: Ubuntu, RHEL (Fedora), SLES (openSUSE). with either Gnome or KDE. steamOS joins the list as well.
not backed by corporation = trash and clown tinkering.
