Been wondering this for years. Seems like there should be something simple out there that "does the job".

But if you're not in the know, you'll just find a bunch of them are limited time trial-ware. Are all these companies in cahoots? Why is it so hard to find this mythical software?

You mean OBS? But I also use zoomit for easily recording a portion of the screen
