Yeah I actually had the same experience using codeblocks. I thought it was my fault somehow. Anyway it didn't happen after I figured out IDEs fucking suck and you should just use command line tools and a good editor.

"Run" uses the last compiled version without rebuilding. If code changed or depends on fresh initialization (like srand), running without compile can cause runtime errors. Always compile before running after edits.

Old recommendations and a lot of people used codeblocks when learning C++ on windows a decade ago.

just learn meson and use vscode or use the actual visual studio man
