self-checkout works fine in my country. sounds more like a problem of being too worried about people stealing shit and adding too many checks by the machine.

the only problem i experience are the random checks, which are awful.

This is how it was at the Walmart near my house for a while, but they shut most of the self checkout machines down because people were stealing stuff.
desu i don't care if people steal stuff, but I'm glad they went back to manned checkout lanes because they're just so much easier.

you just scan the items, put them in your bag or wherever, and move on.
no scale, no "bagging area". have you thought about having fewer wogs in your cunt?

The right thing to do when being harassed is to stay in the store with your receipt, go grab a new cart and start stocking up on the same items and have them check the new cart. Abandon the old one. Make them restock everything in it.

the trick is to place a heavy item (like a 2l bottle of soda) there first. those machines trip up when you start bagging with lighter items first. they are shit overall.

>wiggle it around trying to get it to scan
>suddenly scans twice within 0.03 seconds
>stand around looking clueless waiting for the zoomer on his phone to approve the delete
why the fuck is there not a cooldown on item scans
even the most seasoned wagies are not throwing 7 items per second across the scanner

...which is how you are supposed to bag groceries. Heavier things go in first, towards the bottom of the bag. You can't figure out something all those minimum-wage teenagers knew on their first day?

that's assuming you bag everything in a single bag. if I don't want to use bags at all (just a 2l coke and a light item) there is no natural ordering constraint to which item gets scanned first but the stupid machine enforces scanning coke first.

Yeah it's definitely this. Even stores of the same chain but in different neighborhoods will have different levels of fuckery, I've noticed. Shop in the niglands and you're stepping into the panopticon of hyperactive weight scales and cameras. Honestly they should just use the cameras to check your race and then enable or disable the additional guards accordingly.

Oh they don't do this because it's fast. They do this because they save so much money staff. Don't be surprised when self checkout gets slower and you're paying a subscription for fast checkout
