Nah that's wrong, those spring connectors don't get nearly as much dust. The leads on the cable do because they are in recessed pockets.

I don't think it would be that great for things which may get plugged and unplugged constantly. Obviously it works fine for applications where you rarely touch it but the connection it makes doesn't feel particularly strong and sturdy to me, like the typical Schuko plugs we use around here feel far, far stronger than that.
