I've been perusing the /ic/ archives and it seems there are a few claims like "I've gone from using the Intuos Pro to the iPad and it's the best decision I've ever made my art has improved a thousand fold never using that garbage again just get le iPad". However there is the exact opposite claim going around as well. What's the prevailing sentiment, who is more correct?

Does it have a screen and can you use a stylus with it?

The primary advantage that I can think of is that unlike a normal drawing tablet, the iPad doesn't need to be connected to a computer, and it has its own software for art, and the Apple Pencil Pro works pretty good, so it's just very convenient and easy to use whenever you want. So you end up drawing more, so your art improves faster.

Back when I used a normal drawing tablet, I had to go get it and put it on the table and connect it to the PC and then open the software I wanted. With an iPad I can just grab it, grab the Apple Pencil which is glued to it, enter Procreate, and just start drawing. It's easier.

Not an artist but M1-M3 ipad airs and pros are pretty affordable (refurbished or just on clearance), compared to something from wacom. Plus they're more portable and have wider functionality

curryPads don't even have tilt sensors that you can easily see when hovering the stylus over the screen
they depend entirely on pressure which is fucking retarded for anyone doing any real drawing and not just sribbling random trash for a kiketube advertisement video
this trash is decades behind even chinkshit tablets

These ipad models are anywhere from 6 to 12 years old. If they're ipad pros they're from 2017 at the latest

So you probably don't even know what products you're comparing, in addition to you saying that ipads don't use tilt sensors

You didn't even notice that the ancient video you posted shows tilt sensors in action? You haven't made a single correct point. I can believe that specialized drawing tablets are better than an ipad, but you obviously aren't able to articulate that

If you are going to get the M1 iPad for drawing make sure you get one over 1TB and 11 inch as that will let you have up to 77 layers in Procreate.
If you want a 12.9 inch iPad or above you'd need a iPad Pro gen 5 or above with 1TB.

Have to make sure which Apple Pencil to use too as the new Pro one is only availible for the new iPads.
So look up which pencil works on your device.
Ignore the shitters here using obvious outdated iPads (One still has a fucking home button LMAO)
But yeah if you really want to do drawing on iPad I'd make sure to get one of the iPads from the 41 layers or above.

This is incredibly outdated. Modern iPad Airs can get hundreds of layers.

>have to connect it to a PC
The one and only advantage of using an iPad or a Galaxy Tab or whatever for drawing is that you can draw on them by themselves whenever you damn well please and don't have to fuck around with annoying cables or whatever.
