This is one cherry picked benchmark out of both those links where it is doing 10-15% better on one half of the benchmark. Even on the one you've linked the m4 is doing 60%+ better on single core.

Then if you go through all the other benchmarks the m4 beats it on both single and multicore, sometimes by over 100%. Plus it seems to have worse battery life and more heat output in that laptop.

Maybe this will change in the future but snapdragon are clearly not even close to being equal yet. Maybe this processor is at the level of the m1 or m2 and better than all the non arm shit but definitely not the m4.

Ok but it needs to be better overall. The snapdragon isn't even better in multicore CPU which is its best area and then it gets obliterated in everything else.

This would be ok if it was a budget CPU but on amazon most laptops using it seem to be even more expensive than the MacBook Air. Or maybe if it was ultra low power but the PCs it features in are thicker/heavier than a MacBook air and still have fans

Maybe this will change in future but it just isn't close at the moment.

I agree but the reason I sold my m1 air was to get OLED. It will be 2026 until apple releases OLED.
The screen is far better than my macbook airs and its 16:10, 90hz. I was going to get the m4 air but all that changed was a better cpu. Also better keyboard on the yoga
