Remember when Intel used to be better than AMD? What exactly happened? Why was the shift so sudden and huge?

Intel made two mistakes, hanging on to their fabs and cuck cores.

Notice it happened when Intel tried to enter the GPU market.

Doing both never worked well for AMD either, compared to Nvidia.

The latest Intel mobile CPU goes toe to toe with the AMD counterpart and laptop manufacturers are complaining about AMD not producing enough chips for them.
Intel is so BACK, lads.

It has been for awhile my old amd tower that came with windows 8 and has a HDD.
Does perform better than my newer intel tower, in many cases.

On laptops i have noticed some heat issues, but i recon that has to do with SSD, DDR5 and the shitty manufacturers not placing proper heat sinks.

Intel has a Chinese CEO now, they will fall in line with the NVIDIA/AMD monopoly.

can't remember something that never happened, like the holocaust.

AMD was stuck with a shitty GF and had nearly no money to develop a new arch when Bulldozer was a rotten lemon. So them bringing out a new arch at TSMC, when Intel didn't innovate for years and was stuck on their own lemon fabs, was like dropping a nuke on a house of cards.

Hanging on their own fabs wasn't a mistake, fucking up the development on new nodes by doing wierd shit was the mistake. They lost several years, what is a lethal blow in that sector. They also did nearly no real arch improvements, and got everyone non-server stuck on quad-cores, what is a second mistake as they gave AMD time to leap-frog and primed a market hungry for more cores as Intel was greedy.

intel and AMD are basically the same.
intel did fuck up horribly because of the oxidization issue however, but if they didn't fuck that up, intel would have been fine.
Right now intel is cheaper than AMD. You could buy a 12100f + h610 mobo combo from AliExpress for like $120 (big downside: half speed nvme).
Maybe you could get the same price for a AM4 PC, but AM4 is slower because it's a generation behind, and the 12100f sucks at productivity but it somehow matches 90% of the performance of a 7600x in gaming.
>b-b-but the new intel CPU's are overpriced!
I agree, but they have not released budget CPU's for the new socket yet, probably because 3nm costs 1.5x more than 7nm and it's not worth selling a 12100f for 1.5x the price (I think they will eventually sell a budget CPU, maybe?).

>intel did fuck up horribly because of the oxidization issue however, but if they didn't fuck that up, intel would have been fine.
This is a red herring, the real cause is that Intel simply misbinned their Raptor Lake chips. The E-cores couldn't handle the voltage and clockspeed thrown at them. They wanted to save face in shitty gayming benchmarks of all things. They couldn't bridge the gap with architecture and were behind on node. So marketing types resorted to factory-sanctioned hardcore overclocking. They thought that their 7nm could tank it like the previous 14nm node. The gamble failed and damaged their brand for no good reason.
