That's not even the 13, that's the 12.
12s are built cheaply for the <$600 education market, 13s are built with a stronger aluminium shell

I thought that it looked cool, but when I compared it to a newer thinkpads it just felt like paying the apple tax without the apple ecosystem. I hope they succeed, but I won't be buying one.

Got one (13) and it's great. At first I thought to buy a Thinkpad because of the memes but they were way more expensive and had Ctrl+FN the wrong way.

costs a limb and doesn't seem to be that good of a thing compared to a nice Thinkpad

Framework won, and Chinovo lost, which is deserved after what the latter did to Motorola.

I've heard that they use better fans with the new AMD chips, is this correct?

I just ordered one few days ago, hope it won't be much worse than the ARM Macbooks

the amd 300 series fans still have a noise but it does sound a little quieter than the 11th gen intel boards.
t. upgraded from 11th gen intel >>105903995 (OP)
they're not bad laptops op. the chassis will flex unlike more premium laptops however, ive had the screen turn on when closed and have had the touchpad stop working when typing with it due to this flex. not too fond of the touchpad either.
its a super light laptop though, and after getting used to it its become a favorite of mine.

It's a nice idea wasted on garbage build quality. They want their laptops to be as thin and light as every other laptop on the market while being repairable, which is self-defeating.

A laptop can be thin and light without sacrificing build quality as much.
Nirav Patel consciously pick recycled plastic as the case material when there are obviously better choices.

Laptops for redditors and environmental apologists. The only argument for framework that holds up is it's more environmentally friendly to reuse parts instead of buying a whole new laptop.
Which you can already kinda do with buying used on ebay for half the price.

That is indeed retarded. But good build quality + thin + repairable would still be a hell of a lot more expensive, and they're already somewhat pricy for the specs.
Besides, it's a repairable laptop. Women and retards (thin laptop market) do not care.
